The Best is Yet to Come

“There are far better things ahead than what we leave behind.” – C.S. Lewis

Today my blog post is inspired by the song Let it Go from the Disney movie Frozen. First of all, if you have not seen the movie, do yourself a favour – rent the movie and watch it!

It may be a Disney movie, but it has universal themes of self-acceptance and letting go of what may not be. It is something that is applicable to anyone, no matter your age. If you cannot watch the movie, at least listen to the theme song:

Letting go is hard for all of us. We are constantly burdened by what we cling to. It may be something that happened in our past, so we cling to the memory and are continuously punished by it.

There are so many things that burden each and every one of us. It can be something as simple as giving yourself a hard time because you ate a chocolate while on a strict diet, or something as serious as divorce, loss of a loved one, eviction, or failing to complete your studies.

Whatever it is that is weighing on your shoulders, it is unnecessary to punish yourself mentally or emotionally for something that cannot be undone. It already happened and no amount of worrying will change that.

We spend so much time wishing things were different, or pondering on those inevitable “what if” questions. But we poison our thoughts by doing this. We should rather learn to accept certain things and just let go.

Let Go, Letting go, prosper, College SA

To let go takes courage. It is not giving up, but rather moving on. Let go of your pain, let go of your guilt, let go of stress, let go of criticism, and let go of the past…

Somebody told me the other day that I will never again be as young as I am today. How true is that? Today, each of us are the youngest that we will ever be. Whatever situation you are in or whatever you have been through, you have time to evolve, to dream, to succeed, and to excel.

And what lies before us might be far greater than what we could ever have imagined.

Take a step towards your future that holds possibilities of success, love, happiness and self-acceptance. For it is only by acceptance that we move on. You are still young, no matter your age. The best is yet to come!

7 Quotes to Inspire Success

Let’s face it – we all want to be successful. Sometimes we just need a bit of inspiration to get us to where we want to be.

Here are 7 quotes about success that will inspire you to reach new heights, and achieve more than you ever thought was possible. Let’s start off the weekend on a positive note. Remember – you can do ANYTHING that you put your mind to!

——————————————————————————————————————————

  1. “The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself” – Mark Caine

This quote is about wanting more for your life. Don’t simply accept the life that you were given – we are free to change it at any time. You may live in a poverty-stricken area that is rife with crime. But are you stuck there? No! You can improve your life. Study, get a good job, and refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you find yourself.

  1. “If you want to SUCCEED as bad as you want to BREATHE, then you will be SUCCESSFUL” – Eric Thomas

How badly do you want to be successful? If you really want something – so much so that you are willing to fight for it and work consistently hard for it – then you are sure to get it!

  1. “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up” – Thomas Edison

Don’t give up! The most successful people got to where they are because they persisted. You are so very close to seeing your dreams come true – so keep at it!

  1. “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” – Winston Churchill

Whether you succeed or fail in your endeavours – keep working hard. You can’t simply sit back and do nothing once you have reached your goals. You need to make sure that you don’t lose what you have achieved – otherwise what was the point in all of your hard work?

  1. “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm” – Winston Churchill

Some people fail over and over again before they eventually succeed. The secret is to not let these failures get the better of you. You need to remain positive, and never lose hope. Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams – you will get there!

  1. “It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things” – Leonardo da Vinci

It is very tempting to take the easy way out of situations. We want to be successful, but sometimes we are not willing to work hard to get it. Success is not something that can just fall into your lap. We need to decide what we want from life, and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

  1. “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will” – Vince Lombardi

Successful people are not stronger than us, nor are they smarter than us. So what then sets them apart? How do they become successful? It is quite simple really – they have a WILL to succeed. They WANT to succeed, and so they will! Be determined to reach your goals, and you will.

Students of College SA, we believe in you! Now you just need to believe in yourself. Go out there and show the world what you are made of!

Turn your dreams into a reality

“Dream it. Believe it.  Be it.” – Oprah Winfrey

Do you sometimes just feel like giving up?

I’m sure we have all felt this way at some point in our lives – especially where studies are concerned. At times, the work may become very difficult and overwhelming, and on top of that, many of us have other full-time responsibilities to deal with.

You may be juggling many things at once – work, studies, children to look after, and other family responsibilities.

We are only human, and it is natural to want to give up when things get too tough. What we don’t always realise, however, is that when we feel this way, we are actually so close to success.

don't give up, perseverance, College SA

If you just keep on, and persevere, you will be one step closer to making your dreams a reality.

Discipline plays a big part in becoming successful. It is not always easy to give up things that you like in order to make time for work and studies – but you definitely won’t regret it in the long run!

Vanessa Scott, who studied Child Care Courses through College SA, shares her story with us. She tells us how she had to give up certain things that she enjoyed doing in order to make time for her studies. She made these sacrifices because, she says, “I knew that my dreams were achievable”.

Her sacrifices and perseverance was well worth it! For she is now living her dream:

“I established an organisation and run a programme for children with learning disabilities. It is run from a school in an impoverished area in the community, but being with these children and knowing that I play a small role in the outcome of their futures is reward enough. Knowledge is power, and I want these kids to have that gift of choice.”

Vanessa wants to study even further, but she cannot afford to at the moment, as most of her money goes into the children’s programme. However, Vanessa maintains a positive attitude:

“I will not give up though. I am saving, and even though I will probably only start next year, I will persevere! Thank you, College SA for the role you’ve played in my dreams becoming a reality. The journey was rewarding and I learned that one is never too old to study. The service was excellent and the tutors are pleasant and patient. The experience has inspired me to study, study, and study some more! Nothing is impossible.

We really admire Vanessa’s optimism and determination, and hope that each one of you reading this will be inspired by her story.

Spring has sprung!

It Must Be Spring

Hush, Can you hear it?
The rustling in the grass,
Bringing you the welcome news
Winter’s day is past.
Soft, Can you feel it?
The warm caressing breeze,
Telling you the sticky buds
Are bursting on the trees.
Look, Can you see them?
The primrose in the lane,
Now you must believe it –
Spring is here again.

Can you believe it’s September already? This also means that SPRING is upon us!

Spring – probably the most beautiful and happiest season. There is a burst of colours, pretty smells, and cheerful sounds of birds chirping.

Not to mention that it is no longer a battle to get out of bed in the morning. The sun rises earlier, so we don’t have to wake up to complete darkness anymore. It is also a lot warmer in the mornings, so we can now safely remove the duvet without feeling as though we are going to freeze up at any moment!

Spring is a time for new beginnings. The bare trees from the cold winter months give way to beautiful, blooming flowers, creating a picturesque sight.

We can also “bloom” this spring. It is time to make those changes in your life, and do the things that you have always wanted to do. Don’t settle for less – you deserve better!

How about taking up a few courses that will advance and improve your life and career? It is never too late to make a change – and what better time to do it than SPRING time?

The Time is Now

“There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” – Nelson Mandela

Live big, College SA

Have you ever looked at your life and wondered why you still do not have the career you wanted, why you aren’t driving a better car or live in a house you always thought you would have by now?

There are many reasons why we “get stuck” in certain stages/phases of our lives. It can be something serious, such as dealing with emotional problems that may stem from a series of things – You might have lost somebody close to you, maybe you were bullied, or maybe you were abused.

Sometimes we are stuck in a career because we do not possess the necessary skills to be promoted, or we cannot afford to buy a new car because we might have other obligations, such as our children’s school fees. Whatever the reason may be that you feel you are not moving forward in life, I have some advice for you.

You might have heard the saying “there is no better time than the present”. I could not agree more. Every so often we tell ourselves the reason why we cannot recover from emotional pain, financial loss, or get a new job is that we feel it is going to take too much work and effort. And yes, it may take a lot of time, work, or effort, but it will be worth it!

It is never too late to become who you were supposed to be, and as the wise Karen Lamb said: “In a year from now you will wish you started today”.

No regrets, College SA

Let go of your past and have the courage to do something that will help you achieve what you were destined to accomplish. So instead of feeling unaccomplished and unhappy in your career, get up and do something about it. Study a course that will help you to get promoted or embark on a new career path. Sometimes the confidence that we receive from a life-changing career is all we need to turn our lives around.

Let go of all the negativity and emotional baggage. The time is now to take back your life! Take back what is yours, and take back what was always supposed to be yours. We all deserve to be happy and live a prosperous life. So make it happen!

That being said, if you want something to happen, you should prepare for it. You should not sit around and wait for something to happen, or wait for somebody to come along and do it for you. No! Look in the mirror and you will see that what you need to succeed is already there. It always was!

Success Begins with You

successful, success, College SA, determination, perseverance, positive

Studying can do wonders. It can broaden your mind, open up many doors for you, and – in so doing – liberate you and make you self-sufficient.

Candice Young, a College SA student who studied towards her Diploma in Child Day Care, shares her success story with us.

She tells us how, since completing her Diploma, her employer has recognised and commended her great work with children – and she has even been given a raise in her salary!

Candice says of studying:

“It taught me things I didn’t know, and challenged me beyond what I thought I was capable of.”

Here is her story:

I highly recommend College SA. I chose to study the Child Day Care diploma. I was so worried doing a correspondence study. I thought I wouldn’t get the support and help that I needed. However, I was wrong.

Throughout my 18 months of studies, each tutor supported me so diligently, helped me with anything I wasn’t quite sure of, sent me motivational messages, really cared, and my ‘silly’ questions were more than welcome and answered.

I just knew I wanted to get this diploma to better myself in the field of work I am in, and to one day have my own day care. It added knowledge to the experience I had, and putting these two things together has paid off quite well, and I know it will continue to.

It taught me things I didn’t know, and challenged me beyond what I thought I was capable of. It opened my eyes to the fact that I could one day run and begin my own day care – which is so exciting, and has been my motivation – the prize dangling before my eyes!

Since receiving my diploma, my work has been recognised more, I have had a raise and been commended by my employer for my work with the children. I am second in charge of running the day care which is of a good and decent size.

I thank College SA for its commitment to me as a student and as a person. I will remember those tutors that really went the extra mile with and for me!

I have recommended College SA to friends wanting to pursue their studies and I will more than likely be studying with College SA in the future!

Thank you College SA, and all the hardworking tutors, whom I had the pleasure of learning and growing with.

God bless!
